Red Caboose Child Care Center Welcomes Pam Skeel as New Executive Director

MADISON, Wis. (September 1, 2023) – Red Caboose Child Care Center, a trusted provider of high-quality, affordable early childhood education and care, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Pam Skeel as its new Executive Director. With extensive experience and passion for nurturing the next generation, Skeel will lead the center into a new era of excellence and growth.

Skeel’s background encompasses 22 years of business management, coupled with invaluable experiences serving in child care and as an Executive Director for non-profits. Her diverse skill set and passion for fostering the growth and well-being of children make her an exceptional addition to the Red Caboose team.

“What drew me to Red Caboose is the family-oriented feeling of the organization,” said Skeel. “Everybody is a part of the family, and everybody is welcomed with open arms. Red Caboose has a long-standing commitment to the community, which is amazing in today’s day and age.”

With seven children of her own, Skeel embodies the values of family and understands the importance of providing a nurturing and supportive environment for young minds. Skeel’s personal experiences have shaped her dedication to serving the Dane County community, and she is eager to contribute her expertise to Red Caboose during its exciting transition into its new home.

This month, Red Caboose will move to the corner of East Washington Avenue and 6th Street. This much larger facility will allow the non-profit organization to serve three times more families.

“We are delighted to welcome Pam Skeel as the new leader of Red Caboose,” said Aaron Stephenson, Board President. “Her impressive background makes her the perfect fit for our beloved organization. We have confidence with her guidance, Red Caboose will have a smooth transition into its new home and continue to positively impact the lives of children and families in Dane County.”

As Executive Director, Skeel will oversee Red Caboose operations, hire professional and dedicated staff and teachers, and help maintain the Red Caboose tradition of providing an inclusive and enriching environment where children can flourish physically, mentally, and emotionally through a play-based curriculum.
